We are hiring a Pack Hike Leader to join our field team. This is a professional outdoor operations role working with live animals and scheduled routes. It requires reliability, physical stamina, and steady decision-making.

What You’ll Do

• Drive our company van for scheduled dog pick-ups and drop-offs

• Lead structured pack hikes (maximum 8 dogs per group)

• Maintain calm, controlled group dynamics on trail

• Follow established safety and handling protocols

• Represent Kuri K9 professionally at client homes

 

Routes operate in both Nanaimo and Cedar.

Physical & Operational Requirements

• Hike 6+ km per day in varying weather conditions

• Confidently manage multiple dogs on leash

• Maintain balance and control if dogs shift direction or apply brief leash pressure

• Lift up to 40 lbs comfortably

• Full driver’s licence with clean record

• Reliable personal vehicle for commuting

 

This role is active, hands-on, and safety-focused.​

Schedule

​

Monday / Wednesday / Friday – Hike Only
9:30am – 12:30pm

​

Tuesday / Thursday – Drive + Hike

7:15am – 2:30pm

​

• Average 20–25 hours per week.

• Daily hours may vary slightly depending on client scheduling, route efficiency, and weather conditions.

• As routes expand, additional morning shifts (approximately 7:15am – 12:00pm, Monday–Friday) are anticipated.

 

This is a long-term team role for someone who values consistency and growth.

Compensation

• Training Period: $20/hr

• Independent Rate: $23/hr

• $25/hr after 6 months if performance standards are met
